The French and Indian War was a battle between French and Britain. Both countries wanted the Ohio River Valley Area. The French lost the war and gave up all their land West of the Mississippi River. That was called the Treaty of Paris.
Intolerable Acts 1774
The Stamp Act was and act passed by Britain. This act was passed by Britain so that they could pay for the huge debt from the French and Indian War. The colonists did not like this so they started boycotting. This act stated that if you had important documents you had to have a special British stamp on it.

The Boston Tea Party was when the colonists dressed as Natives and poured all the pounds of tea into the Boston Harbor. Colonists dressed as Natives so the British wouldn’t get mad at them but get mad at the Natives. Britain knew it was the colonists and imposed a series of acts called the Intolerable Acts. Colonists did this because they were tired of Britain taxing and making monolpolies.

The Intolerable Acts were passed by Britain to show everyone what would happen to rebellions of the British crown. These acts were so bad that the colonists named them the Intolerable Acts. The colonists started boycotting British goods even more.

The Second Continental Congress was a town meeting where colonists were deciding weather to have peace with Britain or have war. The group of people who wanted independence from Britain were named Patriots. The people who wanted peace with Britain were called Loyalists. Loyalists were mostly wealthy people who liked their lives and didn’t want to throw it away. The colonists also Sent two petitions one declaring peace and the other declaring war.

The battle of Bunker Hill was when colonists were ready to fight Britain with the cannons they got from Ft. Ticonderoga. The colonists won the first two battles but on the third one they ran out of ammunition and had to retreat. Although colonists lost the the third war they ran away with more soldiers. The colonists were led by George Washington, a southerner who had good representation from the French and Indian War. Colonists did this because they wanted independence.
