The law was designed to encourage oil exploration and development. It provided for much smaller concessions, and for smaller companies who didn't have a stake in oil. By 1961, ten good oil fields were discovered and Libya was exporting oil.

The air strike happened on April 14, 1986, and Libya sponsored terrorism against the US. The strike lasted for about one hour, and in result, five military targets were hit along with terrorism centers.
Gaddafi became the leader of Libya in 1969, and his government was known to be suspected of participating in or aiding terrorist acts. Gaddafi undertook several invasions of neighboring states in Africa, and all of his actions led to a downfall of Libya's foreign relations with many countries.
Libya's government was abolished on April 25, 1963, and the name of the country was changed to the Kingdom of Libya. The new regime then abolished the monarchy and proclaimed the new Libyan Arab republic.
