  • One day as Mia was walking into her house after school she headed to the living area to meet her mother as usual, but instead of the television she heard loud sobs. Concerned, she walked in to see her mother and her best friend Ashley's mother sitting on the couch, tears streaming down their faces.
  • "What happened?" she asked. "Well...it's Ashley. She has been missing since last night. We think she's been...kidnapped." Ashley's mom replied between sobs. Mia wanted to go look for her, but she was afraid that if she found her she wouldn't be able to defeat the kidnapper.
  • She stopped and thought for a second...her best friend was out there. She had to go look for her. She  ran upstairs and packed a bag with some clothes. Then, she ran back downstairs and filled the bag the rest of the way with food and water. "I'm going to find her." Mia said. Just as her mother was about to protest, Mia kissed her on the forehead and sped out of the door.
  • As Mia was walking down her street on her way to the park, her thinking spot, she suddenly stopped. She heard a voice. The voice said, "Go to the next town to the east side. Find the city park and walk into he woods behind it. It will bring you to a mythical land, but do not be afraid. The path you will follow will be paved with red stones. Stay  close to the trail, it will lead you to Ashley."
