  • Life is great in the roman Empire
  • Not for all of us! What’s so good about your daily life
  • Rome is an amazing place if you have money. For example
  • Housing
  • we live in grand houses, built of stone and marble. Thick walls shut out the noise and dirt of the urban city.
  • we live in houses that are crowded into an apartment building,we cook on our grill and it leaves smoke in the air.
  • Food and drink
  • We depend upon the slaves or our women to shop for the perfect food for us for our dinner parties
  • As poors we cook on small grills and depended on “fast-food” places called thermopolia where people could purchase hot and cold foods that were ready to eat.
  • Education
  • In our families we get our children tutored by their fathers or slaves until 6 years old
  • Poor children in Rome were sent to work instead of school
  • Family life
  • In our poor families we both husbands and wives had to work in order to take care of themselves and their children.
  • Our women run our houses they also bought and trained the families slaves.
