  • Conflict: Soc's V.S. Ponyboy
  • Conflict: Soc's V.S. Ponyboy
  • Conflict: Soc's V.S. Ponyboy
  • Socs yell out to the gang and Ponyboy just when they are walking down the street as seen when Ponyboy points out that, "someone will come by and yell, greaser, which doesn't make you feel too hot" (2). This shows just that they don't get any respect from the socs. Mostly just because of how they dress and that they're not rich like the socs. his make pony feel like he has to act tuff and be a greaser like you have to be either a greaser or a soc.
  • Johnny killed Bob and almost killed ponyboy to death himself when he saw Bobs dead body "Bob the handsome soc, was lying in the moonlight doubled up and still... Johnny's hand was clutching his switchblade." (56) in this scene, Johnny kills the soc and pony boy is realizing it.  When Bob is dead Ponyboy knows that Johnny only killed him for self-defense. On the other hand, Bob and the other soc's were just looking for something to do because they were drunk and bored.
  • Ponyboy realizes that just because Paul is a soc Dally isn't friends with him anymore. For example "They used to be buddies... and know they hate each other because one has to work for a living and the other comes from the west side." (143) In this scene, Dally is now fighting an old buddy just because he is a soc. This makes Pony realize that we all have titles but Pony wants to get rid of all the titles, and just let the person be their individual.
