  • In the beginning, Asia saw a moth in the house near the window and observed its beautiful wings. Suddenly, Maddy runs into the room and tells Asia to get the moth out of the house. She says that moths bring bad luck.
  • Falling Action
  • Ira had a heart attack and since Maddy is not able to drive, Asia has to drive them to the hospital. While they are at the hospital Maddy hears that her son Harry is coming to town. This causes Asia to worry because Ira and Maddy are keeping some secrets from her.
  • Resolution
  • Asia is upset because Harry is planning to give her back to her real family, but she just wants to stay with Ira and Maddy. Asia's mother is dead but her grandmother Beth wants to have Asia live with her. On the other hand, the day before harry invited Beth to come, the family took a walk to the old barn house. Asia walked into the old barn house and then right in the room saw a ghost
  • Theme
  • Asia has to live with Beth and is upset about not being able to live with Ira and Maddy anymore. During the period that Asia is living with Beth, they hear bad news, Ira has passed away. In the mean time, Miranda the ghost has been trapped in the old barn house and wants to get out.
  • Asia gets used to living with Beth and is happy that Maddy is living with Harry so she isn't alone. Asia has also set Miranda the ghost free by giving her the diary to Beatrice. She has also been able to learn the secrets about her deceased mother and her family.
  • The theme to this book is to always be grateful for the things you have in life. Asia wasn't grateful for having a loving grandmother, but she soon begins to love her. She is also grateful that her grandmother cared for her because she would've never found out the secrets of her family.
  • Be grateful for the things you have.
