Impacts of the Cold War on Afghanistan By: Makayla Letner
We have no government!!
People are left homeless!!
Few large cities are left!!
After the end of the Cold War, Afghanistan found themselves without a real government. Without a clear leader, the people of Afghanistan were left poor and hungry.
We are split up!!
Due to many destroyed villages and towns, from the Soviets and the U.S. fighting, thousands of people are left homeless. Many people struggled in the winter and didn't have enough to survive.
We are all scared!!
Due to millitary invasions, most of Afghanistan's larger countries are left to dust. But a few of the main cities are unharmed from the Cold War events.
After the Cold war Afghanistan was split up into 3 different territories. 2 of the 3 territories were from the northern alliance, Massouds and Dostumes, while 1 of the territories is not northern, Taliban.
After the cold war everyone became scared of what could come next. The tearing apart of there country-in front of there eyes, I might add-made Afghanistan a "melancholic" country.
