Protective FunctionProtecting their lives, liberties and property of the people. It's good for stuff like lemon laws. The lemon law is for a vehicle that's less than a year old and has less than 18,000 miles on it. to fit it under warty it has 3 attempts to repair a problem, 30 days in the shop, and 8 attempts to fix several problems.

Interest Groupsspecialized groups influence gov. Policy through the use of votes, funding, or information. It allows citizens to participate in gov., but in these interest groups there could be corruption going on. it also gives the wealthy classes more power in gov. So the lower classes won't have as much say in their own gov.
SubsidiesIs gov. Financial support for a specific industry or business. This is good because it can manage prices and support key industries. Although subsidies can favor certain groups and have inequality by favoring business.
Pork Barrel LegislationCompetition between politician to bring back the most funds for their states & voters. This occurs through gov. projects.
