  • Romulus - 753 BC to 716 BC Romulus and his brother Remus were raised by a wolf and in 753 BC he killed his brother and founded Rome. During his reign, he created the Roman military and the senate
  • Numa Pompilius - 715 BC - 672 BCNuma Pompilius was the second of the seven kings and he created the religious calendar and helped create temples like the Temple of Janus. Janus is the god of beginnings, gates, transitions, time, duality, doorways, passages, and endings.
  • Tullus Hostilius - 672 BC - 642 BCTullus Hostilius was the third king of Rome and he was a very hostile leader hence his name Hostilius. He captured neighboring cities and doubled the number of Roman citizens.
  • Ancus Marcius - 642 BC - 616 BCAncus Marius was the fourth king of Rome and his main achievement was that he conquered land all the way up to the meditarean sea and he founded the port Ostia.
  • Lucius Tarquinius Priscus - 616 BC - 579 BCLucius Tarquinius Priscus, an Estruscan, was the fifth King of Rome. As king, he increased the number of senators and began construction of a wall around Rome. This would help Rome keep away from invaders such as tribes.
  • Servius Tullius - 579 BC - 534 BCServius Tullius was the sixth king of Rome and he was actually born to a slave. Legend has it that if a ring of fire appears over a baby’s head then they are destined to be king and this happened to Servus Tullius’s when he was a baby.
