Storyboard Text

  • Today you will learn how corn is digested and the process it takes through a chickens digestive system.
  • The third step of the digestive system is the esophagus. The esophagus is located down the inside of the chest, and is used to carry the food to the crop.
  • The first step of the digest system is the beak. The beak pecks the food up and moves it towards the esophagus.
  • The second step is the tongue. The tongue pushes the food down the esphagus.
  • After the esopagus the food moves to the crop and the crop is just an expandable storage apartment 
  • The cloaca gets rid of the material that the body does not need
  • Now the food is in the gizard and this breaks down the food to grits 
  • Now the food travels throught the proventriculus were food is broken down and stored 
  • The large intestine absorbs all the water and pass the rest to the rectum and cecum
  • The small intestine is next and this absorb the nutrients and lets all the bad stuff go to the larg intestine 
  • The Rectum holds material that the body does not need
