  • I've seen three cases of West Nile virus in the past week. I'm hearing from other doctors that that they're seeing cases too.
  • Mosquito-borne illnesses.
  • Exactly.
  • I still have a plan swimming at Miller's Pond. I don't know what I'll do if mom tries to stop me. 
  • There will be a next year. 
  • Next year I'll be a senior. Assuming there's is a school next year.
  • Peter drops by Miranda's house to give some canned spinach to her mom. Peter has a burden of knowing that viruses are breaking out including, West Nile virus. Peter is worried about the health of the children and the virus getting to them.
  • Where were you?
  • I know that. Where out? What have you been doing?
  • Swimming. At Miller's Pond. Which I intend to keep doing all summer long. 
  • Out.
  • Miranda is thinking that her mom will not allow her to go thanks to Peter coming and talking about West Nile Virus. Also before her mother said that she could but now she is worried. Also she wants to go swimming because she wants to get away from home. 
  • Miranda and Dan talk about there plans for the school year. Also Miranda finds out that Dan's grandparents are dead. He found them on the dead or missing list on the computer. 
  • Miranda's leaves with out telling her mom and when she returns she has a lot to worry about.  Miranda's Mom ask Miranda why she didn't tell her where she was going. Miranda and her mom get into a argument about Miranda telling people when she was leaves and where she goes.
