  • Andrew Jackson was the 7th president from 1829-1837
  • He created the Indian Removal act to grant unsettled lands west of Mississippi in exchange for lands
  • Nullification crisis- it was a sectional political crisis that needed a confrontation between South and North Carolina
  • The common man-All white men can vote
  • Trail of tears: Jackson moved the Indians east of the Mississippi river to the west. This was very devastating and hard for the Indians to do.
  • Spoils system-the practice of after winning a political party gives government civil jobs to its supporters.
