  • The Punic Wars
  • 264-146 BC
  • The Romans were able to use huge hooks to pull enemy ships in and board them with soldiers. By doing this, they were able to turn naval warfare into land battles, and won the war.
  • Yeah! It was so easy to trick those guys 
  • First Punic War
  • We do have to build up our navy though.
  • 264-241 BC
  • It was a great idea using the drawbridge!
  • The Carthaginian General Hannibal invades Italy, but doesn't attack Rome. The Romans can't defeat him, so they moved to Carthage.
  • We've already lost so many soldiers. What can we do to stop Hannibal?
  • Second Punic War
  • 219-201 BC
  • We can go to Carthage to drive him out of Italy!
  • I Have an idea!
  • With Hannibal and his army being gone, the Romans were able to take control of Carthage. When Hannibal found out the Romans easily defeat him in Carthage.
  • No!!!
  • You're too late! 
  • We have already taken over. Your army is no match for us now.
  • Cato the elder Hated that Carthange returned, so Rome decided to defeat them again. They were very weak, so it was done easily.
  • I say we just invade them again. They're already so weak.
  • We could also get some slaves to expand Rome!
  • Third Punic War
  • 149-146 BC
  • Cato really hates that Carthage is back.
  • Carthage was completely wiped out from the wars, and the entire country was forced into slavery
  • Rome gained many slaves and became a much richer country, so rich people benifited
