Jim and Huck build a wigwam on a raft.
Jim and Huck come upon a wrecked steamboat. Huck instis to go on the boat because he wants to be like Tom Sawyer.
Huck overhears two robbers discussing how to kill their friend in another room.
Once the robbers leave the room, Huck explains to Jim that they need to cut the robber's boat loose from the ship to stop the robbers from escaping.
Huck and Jim go to the top of the steamboat and they see that their raft has floated away. "Oh, my lordy! Raf? Dey ain't no raf' no mo' she done broke loose en gone!--'en here we is!' (73)
The theme of this chapter is that when Huck acts Tom Sawyer trouble tends to come, however, when Huck is himself he is pretty resourceful and things turn out fine.
