This is a tale about the terrible America. In the 1900's there was horrific conditions of the industries, you'd see young aged children, women in crowded areas and men getting fired for being injured.
The poor young 12 year old boys were forced to work in the industries. They were not allowed to go to school because they had to work. It is important for the young children to go to school because they need to learn the proper skills in life and also how to read.
The men and women of the 1900's had to face horrible conditions. Men would get injured on the job and be fired for it, women forced to work in tight spaces as men did.
Everyone wanted a change in how the industries were ran. They wanted kids in school for education, women to not work for so long in the bad conditions, and men to be paid for injuries on the job. So Florence Kelley stepped in and same with Henry Ford, so they fought to change their ways. To help their people.
Children could no longer work under the age of 14, which meant they could go to school. The older kids however were able to work but their hours were cut shorter. Child Labor laws came into affect, which helped the children get the skills they needed.
Then, the law saved the women and men, making it that men injured are still to be paid and women getting their hours cut for their safety. People of all ages were affected by the terrible ways of the industries.
