Josh?!! What are you doing here? Are you okay? How did you get out?
Don't worry, I'm fine. Can't talk now, we gotta go. I think I know how to destroy those shadows and rescue our parents.
What is this place?
Don't know, don't care. Right now, we have to sneak into the shadows' central control room and disable their source of energy somehow.
There they are. Grab and go!
Jules followed Josh across the bridge, bewildered.
They emerged into a deserted courtyard that was in ruins with one single lonely road winding through it.
There you two are! We've been looking everywhere for you!
Josh and Jules started scaling the dirt wall, grabbing onto the huge tree's roots to steady them and reached for the pulsating blue orbs.
Ah... Home sweet home!
They ran along the path, orbs in hand, gasping and wheezing, and then they threw the orbs at a large tree. The orbs seemed to fly through the air in slow motion, finally they shattered against the tree with a crash, and the vortex opened up in the sky again. This time, however, the vortex was in reverse. It spit out all the things it had sucked up only a few hours ago, the shadows went back into it, and Josh and Jules ran back into the outskirts of their hometown.
They met their parents in an empty parking lot. Maybe Josh and Jules got a little emotional, but then again, who can blame them?
Everything was back to normal, and Josh and Jules's parents seemed okay, except for the fact that they didn't seem to remember anything that had happened to them while they were in the portal. Josh and Jules would never forget what THEY had been through, though.
Sure feels great to be back, doesn't it?
Well, I'm just glad you two are safe and happy where I can keep an eye on you! *wink*
