  • Blanche: "I think he told you something about Mitch and me! You know why Mitch didn't come but you wont tell me!
  • Stella: Mr.Kowalski is to busy making a pig of himself to think of anything else! Now come and help me clean up the table!!
  • Stanley: Stella!, ever since Blanche got here you been calling me names such as her "pig ", a "polack". What do you two think you are?
  • Mitch: Blanche, you lied to me, I have accepted you for who you are not for your looks
  • Blanche: NOOOOO, DONT TURN ON THE CANDLE!!!
  • Eunice: "You done the right thing, the only thing you could do. She couldn't stay here; there wasn't no other place for her to go."
  • Stanley: "You left nothing here but split talcum and old empty perfume bottles-unless it's the paper lantern you want to take with you. You want the lantern?"
  • Stella: Eunice, please don't let them take her , i love her, i''ll do anything to let her stay here i'll help her
  • Matron: "These fingernails have to be trimmed. Jacket, doctor?" 
  • Doctor: Blanche, we need to go, now!
  • Stella: Eunice, please don't let them take her , i love her, i''ll do anything to let her stay here i'll help her
  • In scene 8, Blanche, Stella, Stanley are celebrating Blanche's birthday. Blanche is hoping that Mitch will shows up, but turns out that Stanley has something to do with Mitch's absence at her birthday party.
  • In scene 9, Mitch visits Blanche in his work clothes. He confronts Blanche about her lies about her age to make herself more desirable, and the reason for her visit to her sister, Stella.
  • In scene 11, Blanche has visitors, in her mind it's Shep Huntleigh, the guys shes going on a cruise with, in turns out its a doctor and a matron from the state institution. Stanley is rushing the process of Blanche being taken from Stella. Stella doesn't want to let her go but she knows its for the best.. The paper lantern being torn off represents Blanche's lies being
