  • Grandma Joe lives in a nursing home. She lives on life support. 
  • The nursing home and the life support are the cell body
  • Hey Grandma, It's your daughter. I won't be able to visit, sorry.
  • The daughter conveying the message is the axon.
  • Her sending the message is the terminal branch.
  • Grandma Joe receiving the message is the dendrite. 
  • Thanks to the great wifi the nursing home has, she was able to receive the text quickly.
  • The speed of the text she received is the myelin sheath.
  • Fine, then I am taking you out of my will, Karen.
  • The text message gets sent to the tower closest to the location of the cell phone
  • and then to the destination. The tower is the synapse that the message is getting carried from.
  • The message was sent from her phone to Rebecca's phone which is neurotransmitter
  • Grandma Joe decides to eat her feelings away. Joe, eating, is the action potential.
  • It is all or nothing response. If she stops, then she will choke. 
  • Grandma Joe eats with her dentures and takes them off when she's done
  • She reuses them the next time she eats. This is reuptake.
