  • Act l
  • I cannot kill Duncan!
  • Act ll
  • Banquo is dead but Fleance has fled.
  • Act lll
  • In Act l, Macbeth is courageous and respected among others. He doesn't want to kill Duncan because he thinks of it as a disgusting and horrible deed.
  • Act lV
  • Macbeth slowly loses his innocent mindset and turns toward murder and deception. At first he feels extremely guilty for killing Duncan but then later hires murderers to kill Banquo and his son.
  • Act V
  • Macbeth slowly seems to lose his sanity as he starts to yell at an empty chair where he sees the ghost of Banquo sitting. He screams, " Avaunt! and quit my sight! let the earth hide thee! Thy bones are marrowless, thy blood is cold; Thou hast no speculation in those eyes Which thou dost glare with!"
  • Macbeth goes to his last option which is the three witches. He sees three different prophcies which ease his worries about being killed.
  • Macbeth loses confidence in the witches' prophecies as his servant tells him that the trees have moved. Macbeth was truly convinced that he was to win the upcomming war but was told otherwise when,"I look'd toward Birnam, and anon, methought, The wood began to move."
