• Pemdas is an acronym. It tells us what order we should go in to solve two step equations.
• This is so boring...

• Let's use 3x+7=22. To solve two step equations you have to work backwards. In 3x+7=22 the first step would be to subtract 7 from 7 because 7 is being added to 3x. So the opposite of addition is subtraction. Since we subtracted 7 from 7 we have to subtract 7 from 22 to make the sides match. That leaves us with 3x=15.
• Zzzzzzzzzz....
• I want to go home.

• The next step would be to use the inverse operation of multiplication, since 3 is being multiplied by x. The inverse operation of multiplication is division. Then we would divide 3x by 3, which is x, then divide 15 by 3 which is 5. That leaves us with x=5.

• YAY!
• Alright everyone you will have to do one worksheet about two step equations then you can go to lunch.
• Finally...
