In the 1500s, Spanish conquistadors took to the seas to claim new landfor Spain.By the time Cabeza de Vaca sailed,in La Relación, Cabeza de Vaca finds himself unexpectedly at the mercy of the people he came to conquer.
After getting lost in the sea during a long-time and tough voyage, Cabeza de Vaca and his crew landed at La Relación. Regained their senses, their locomotion, and their hope.
When they tried to explore the land, they first met the Native Indians. By the effort of Cabeza de Vaca and their Inspector, they built a friendship with the Native Americans.
Cabeza de Vaca and his crew tried to embark. But they failed because of the huge waves, and lost three members. The Native Americans understood their full plight and lamented for the victims.
Cabeza de Vaca beseeched the Native Americans to bring him and his crew to their village because of their tough situation. The Native Americans agreed gladly, and provided them with food.
The Indians used primitive ways to cure people and believed that Cabeza de Vaca and his crew have special power. So they became the medicine-men in the village. In consequence, the Indians treated them kindly.
