Storyboard Text

  • A fight? No sir!
  • No sir, I am not biting my thumb at you, but I am biting my thumb
  • Are you trying to start a fight?
  • But saying o'er what I have said before. My child is yet a stranger in the world. She hath not seen the change of fourteen years. Let two more summers wither in their pride Ere we may think her ripe to be a bride.
  • Girls younger than she often marry and become happy mothers.
  • Of honorable reckoning are you both. And pity ’tis you lived at odds so long. But now, my lord, what say you to my suit?
  • She speaks. Oh, speak again, bright angel. You are as glorious as an angel tonight.
  • Oh, Romeo, Romeo, why do you have to be Romeo? Forget about your father and change your name. Or else, if you won’t change your name, just swear you love me and I’ll stop being a Capulet.
  • Well, sir, my mistress is the sweetest lady.—Lord, Lord! when ’twas a little prating thing.—Oh, there is a nobleman in town, one Paris, that would fain lay knife aboard, but she, good soul, had as lief see a toad, a very toad, as see him.
  • What sayst thou, my dear Nurse?
  • Warrant thee, my man’s as true as steel.
  • Is your man secret? Did you ne'er hear say, “Two may keep counsel, putting one away”?
  • Romeo can, Though heaven cannot. O Romeo, Romeo! Who ever would have thought it? Romeo!
  • What devil art thou that dost torment me thus? This torture should be roared in dismal hell. Hath Romeo slain himself? Say thou but “ay,” And that bare vowel I shall poison more Than the death-darting eye of cockatrice. I am not I if there be such an I, Or those eyes shut that makes thee answer “ay.” If he be slain, say “ay,” or if not, “no.” Brief sounds determine of my weal or woe.
  • Monday! Ha, ha! Well, Wednesday is too soon. Let it be on Thursday. On Thursday, tell her, she’ll be married to this noble earl. Will you be ready? Do you think it’s a good idea to rush? We shouldn’t have too big a celebration—we can invite a friend or two. Listen, because Tybalt was just killed, people might think that we don’t care about his memory as our relative if we have too grand a party. Therefore we’ll have about half a dozen friends to the wedding, and that’s it. What do you think about Thursday?
  • Monday, my lord
