As an impressionable child, high school was seemed to be a fairytale wonderland with popular cheerleaders and football jocks. Little did I know...
Registration gave me a taste of how this "wonderland" would actually be. Nowhere did I see popular cheerleaders. Nonetheless, I was ecstatic.
It's been TWENTY minutes!!!
My mind was flooded with questions only god knows the answers to, the night before. Should I walk a certain way? Am I going to cry?
High school isn't so bad, after all...
Once I arrived at school, I was astounded by the amount of students. The campus was filled with buildings. When I walked into my first period, I did not recognize anyone.
I don't know anyone in this class...
My periods flew by. Although I was excited for high school, none of my classes had lived up to my expectations, and neither would lunch. With the crowded cafeteria, it was almost impossible to get food early enough to eat in time.
The rest of the day was a blur. I was relieved to go home. Although high school may not be a "wonderland", students should be grateful to have an opportunity to get an education. In the end, high school showed me that the biggest blessings are the hidden ones.
