Jonas looked outside the window and saw children at play. He just wanted his childhood back. He didn't want to have the memories or the pain, but the choice was not his. Jonas went back to the annex room.

Jonas asks what the givers favorite dream is. The giver tells Jonas to lay down so he could give him his favorite dream
Things could be different
Jonas enters the memory and sees small children running around with packages in their hands. Jonas also sees people behind them that don't look like parents and Jonas finds out what grandparents are. Jonas felt something that he hasn't felt ever. He felt Love
Jonas leaves the memory and rides back to his home on his bike. He goes back home and asks his parents if they love him. They refused to use the word love and didn't answer his question but answered the question a differnt way.
He talks to Gabriel and tells him that the future could change and how things could be different.
The next morning Jonas did not take his pills. Something inside of him told him that he shouldn't take them anymore. He threw the pills away.
