ANOTHER WAY WE CAN HELP IS BY TAKING AWAY THE USE OF PLASTIC OR RECYCLING pLASTIC CAN NEVER BREAK DOWN OVER TIME WHICH MAKES IT BIOGRADIBLE.sOME CITIES ARE EVEN BANNNING STAWS BECAUSE OF THIS WATER POLLIUTION.
The great pacific garbage patch is located in the pacific ocean . It is called the north pacific gyre. Its filled with 1.8 million pieces of garbage.
Well this is all caused because of us humans. We always throw trash in the ocean and the current catches on floating pieces of garbage.
Why is there soo much trash!!!
As the plastics break down they become micro-plastics. They will still continue to flow through the gyre. Even though the plastic gets smaller it never really goes away and in messes up our waters. After a while they start to appear as food to see animals which causes deaths.
The United Nations Enviorment Program estimates that this kills one million sea birds and 10,000 sea animals each year. We can also get sick by eating the fish that has consumed plastic.
We can stop this by preventing garbage getimng into our waterways. The most clear way is not littering.
