- When Africans were introduced to America, they were not intent on finding a better way of life and it was not of their own will. They had been captured and forced into slavery.

- After overcoming Slavery, Blacks were still oppressed! The Jim Crow Laws enforced racial segregation. They also prohibited Blacks and Whites being treated the same. African Americans suffered abuse and mistreatment still.
