  • Nay, as they dare. I will bite my thumb at them, which is disgrace to them if they bear it.
  • I will frown as I pass by, and let them take it as they list
  • Do you bite your thumb at us, sir?
  • Do you bite your thumb at us, sir?
  • No, sir, I do not bite my thumb at you, sir, but I bite my thumb, sir,
  • I do bite my thumb, sir?
  • Sampson and Gregory see a couple of servents from the Capulet family. They then start talking about the hatred towards the Capulet family. Sampson then says he will bite his thumb to disgrace them.
  • Part, Fools!Put up your swords you know not what you do.
  • Sampson bites his thumb towards the servants of the Capulet family. The two servants go back and forth until A fight breaks out between both families.
  • What, art thou drown among these heartless hinds
  • I do but keep the peace. Put up thy sword. Or manage it to part these men with me.
  • The two families get into a brawl on the streets of Verona.
  • Rebellious subjects, enemies to peace, Profaners of these neighbor-stained steel Will they not hear? what ho! you men, you beast, That quench the fire of your pernicious rage With purple fountains issuing from your veins: on pain of torture, from those bloody hands, Throw your mistempererd weapons to the ground, and hear the sentence of your moved prince. Three civil brawls bred of an airy word By thee old Capulet, and Montague Have thrice disturbed the quiet of our streets And made Verona citizens cast by their graves-beseeming Ornaments To wield old partisans in hands as old, cankered with peace To part your cankered hate if you ever disturb our streets again your lives shall pay the forfeit of the peace. For this time all the rest depart away. You, Capulet shall go along with me and Montague come you this afternoon To know our father pleasure in this case.
  • Shortly another member of the Montagues Benvolio steps in. Yelling at both families as he draws his sword towards them.
  • Tybalt appears as another family member of the Capulets. As he walks toward Benvolio and the crowd as he draws his swords saying how he hats the word peace as he also hates all Montagues. This then starts another fight which then both Lord Capulet and Lord Montague comes to the town.
  • What, drawn and talk of peace? I hate the words As I hate hell, all Montagues, and thee. Have at thee, coward!
  • Shortly after the Prince comes with his soldiers on horse back. Lashing out after both families stating if they were to ever disturb the peace of these streets they will pay with their lives
