On the morning of October 2, 1835 the Texans attacked the Mexicans who were outnumbered. The Mexicans retreated towards San Antonio de Bexar. This is battle held the flag that stated the quote "Come and take it!" This was also know as the Lexington of Texas.

The Texans found themselves surrounded on an open prairie; they surrendered. Santa Anna ordered them to be killed, so the they were all marched in to an opened field and killed.
The Anglo-Americans were fleeing from Texas to America, because they were scared of Santa Anna after what happened at the Battle of the Alamo and the Goliad Massacre.
Sam Houston believed that if the attacked the Mexicans in mid-day that they would be unprepared for battle. The battle was over in less than 18 minutes. The Texans had a victory.
