  • The crusades happened in many different places, including Northern Europe. A historian named Henry recorded these events in a book called the "Livonian Chronicle"
  • The Chronicle written by Henry records that the crusades in the north were against Baltic pagans. These were polytheists who refused to convert to Christianity.
  • the crusades started in 1095-1492
  • the bishop Albert landed in the mouth of Daugava in 1200 with 23 ships and 500 solders
  • many pagans were killed by christans
  • many churches were built across northern europe
