  • Hockey, one of the most popular sports in North America and Europe. This Sports is nearly 150 years old, but the question is how did it get to this.
  • I think this one is ready to go
  • The ancestor of Hockey is Scottish sport of Shinty, Others say the sport Bandy. Both sports were brought to Canada
  • Immigrants from the British Isles adapted shinty to ice. It's rough game, in a rough country, and both are developing at the same time. Many places Claim to be the birth place of hockey. By the early 1800s, there are stories of kids playing  a form of the game on the frozen ponds of Nova Scotia.
  • In 1866, the Starr Manufacturing Company of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, produces a revolutionary new skate. An Ingenious design that clamps firmly to a boot with a rounded blade for better maneuverability. For the next half century, Starr skates are the gold standard around the world. Starr Also makes a new kind of stick, which becomes a template for the official hockey stick. It's the stick that also gave the game its name. It came from a Old French word which means shepard's crook, and it stuck
  • The official creator of hockey is James Creighton.  James took a lot of inspiration from Rugby for the rules to his new game. Some rules that are still in the game are penalties for fighting, hooking, tripping, and slashing.
  • On March 3, 1875, Creighton booked the Victoria Skating Rink in Montreal,  Quebec. and invited his friends from rugby and a small audience to come. creighton tells everyone the rules, then it begins. Thus the first official hockey game.
