- Guy Montag a fireman (who burns books) was on his way home when he ran into a seventeen year old Clarisse McClellan who askees him if he is happy. Although it sounds like a simple harmless question it makes Montag rethink all of his choices.
- Are you happy?
- I don't know, Am I?
- one day Montag had to burn a pile of books. But when he saw the old lady who the books belonged to he stole a book.
- No!
- I just stole a book!
- Captain Beatty somehow figured out Montag was hiding a book. Beatty said it was alright as long as he did not take the books seriously.
- All firefighters go through this
- Burn them now!
- Mildred Montag's wife, betrayed him and told Beatty about all the books Montag had continuously stolen. Montag was ordered to burn all of the books he hide.
- Montag runs to Faber's house and Faber helps Montag escape to a place were people like books
- Run Guy Montag, Run!!!

- Montag makes across the bridge to a place were there is a group of people who like books
