Arrival at Roanoke
Colony From August To October
After John White Leaves The Village tries to set sail to Croatoan Island but get lost at sea.
117 people sailed to Roanoke Island including John White. They were hoping to establish a colony near Chesapeake Bay. Two years earlier another colony was supposed to be set up by Sir Richard Greenville but it was unsuccessful.
Once the colonists arrived they found a demolished fort and only one dead body. They Still decided to settle there. Also, John Whites Daughter gave birth to a child named Virgina which was the first child in North america from England.
The settlers could have been suffering so they moved to Croatoan Island. The one dead man would mean that they left because they saw that their people were dying. After they left the Fort fell. This would make them appear to be lost at sea forever.
