Claudius and Polonius spy on Hamlet to watch his confrontation with Ophelia. Hamlet tells Ophelia that he contemplates suicide, and wonders if it is better to live in sorrow. He also assures Ophelia that he isn't in love with her.
Claudius Caught Praying
Hamlet sees Horatio at a play and explains to him how the ghost is his father and how Claudius was the one who killed his father. Hamlet wants Horatio to keep a close eye on him.
Claudius is very shaken up from what happend at the play and wants Rosencrantz and Guildenstern to take Hamlet to England immediately. Claudius sees Hamlets depression as dangerous.
Polonius is Killed
Hamlet attempts to go kill Claudius but then he realizes he is praying and that since he was asking for forgiveness for his sins he would go to heaven, so he decides to wait until a time when he is sinning.
Polonius hides in Gertrudes room while she waits for Hamlet to come. He wants to find the cause to Hamlets bizarre behavior.
Hamlet is talking to his mother and the conversation starts to get intense and a little violent. Gertrude and Polonius scream for help. Hamlet thinks the voice he heard behind the tapestry is Claudius. Hamlet draws his sword and stabs it through the tapestry.
