Storyboard Text

  • On August 17, 1915, a young girl was killed at the pencil factory where she worked, sparking a trial to always be remembered. Who will be accused of murder? Who else will die?
  • Oh no! Who could have killed poor Mary Phagan! She was only 13!
  • In a biased jury, only 1 man was seriously accused: Leo Frank, A Jew. The townspeople called for swift justice to take down the evil, northern-born man who had exploited and killed one of their own.
  • It was definitely him; he's Jewish!
  • But I'm innocent!
  • How could he have done this to poor Mary! I DEMAND action!
  • I don't need to hear from any other suspects! Arrest HIM!
  • YAY! Justice prevails!
  • I sentence you to DEATH!
  • Oh no!
  • But the governor had other plans. His successful political career ended when he saved Frank's life.
  • Death is not a fair punishment! Instead Leo Frank will be sentenced to life in prison!
  • But soon after Leo Frank arrived in prison, he was kidnapped by a group who called themselves "The Knights of Mary Phagan."
  • Please leave me alone; don't hurt me!
  • Leo Frank was lynched. Years later, new evidence was revealed proving his innocence- he had suffered a painful, unnecessary death only due to the extreme degree of antisemitism at the time.
  • YAY!!!
