Colonel Elijah Clark- Today we will fight against the British we will not let them win this time, we will do all we can and WE WILL WIN!!! Because we are who ?
We are the PATRIOTS, PATRIOTS, PATRIOTS, PATRIOTS, AND WE ARE HERE TO DEFEND!!!!
Thank you ma'am for your comprehension and lets hope we win, because we are one
We are very GRATEFUL that we have you Colonel, Thank You and for everything and lets hope for the best
You and your little untrained group will never win, because for us you are the easiest to defeat.
We did attempt to do a two-pronged, even though we failed, we are not going to give up
The tide turned when the Loyalists saw their commander, Boyd, collapse from a musket wound. Panicked, they disintegrated into a disorderly retreat towards the creek as Pickens’ Patriots fired down upon their camp from above.
I can't be more grateful with God, we've actually won the war.
By the end of the action, the Loyalists suffered 70 killed and another 70 captured, compared to 9 killed and 23 wounded for the Patriots. Colonel Boyd, who was wounded during the engagement, died shortly afterward. The victory was the only significant Patriot victory in Georgia and delayed the consolidation of British control in the largely Loyalist colony. And this is when the war ends.
In 1780, Colonel John Dooly was murdered at his log cabin home on his Georgia plantation by South Carolina Loyalists
