  • The French and Indian War was a conflict between Great Britain and France.   
  • It was a war to decide which nation would control North America. 
  • Benjamin Franklin proposed the Albany Pa in of which was the  British colonies to form an alliance for their own defense. 
  • The Treaty of Paris ended the war in 1763.
  • The treaty gave Britain territories in mainland North America. 
  • France gave up all it's territories mainland North America, effectively ending any foreign military threat to the British colonies..
  • Britain imposed the Proclamation of 1763  on the colonists which prohibited American colonist from setting west of Appalachian.
  • The war cost Britain a lot of money so they decided to take the colonists. The colonists became angry.
