Hi! My name is Jacob Portman. I'm a pretty average Florida teenager. Except for my family. My mom is part of the family that owns all of the Rite-Aids in Florida, my dad is a birdwatcher, and my grandfather is crazy guy with stories about WW2 and weird monsters
One day, Jacob receives a strange phone call from his grandfather about him trying to open his gun safe to defend himself. Jacob and his best friend race over to his grandfather, and find him dying on the ground. His last words are: "Go to the island, its safe there. Promise me. There's no time. Find the bird. In the loop. On the other side of the old mans grave. September 3rd, 1940"
When his grandfather dies, Jacob looks up, and sees a horribly disfigured, monstrous thing walk away. He yells for his friend to shoot at it, but his friend sees nothing, and the monster runs off into the woods.
Jacob's unbelievable story about the monster he saw that he assumed was responsible for the death of his grandfather led to him being recommended to a physciatrist, Dr. Golan. Dr. Golan diagnosed his episode as a result of Acute Stress Reaction
Jacob is finally going to get over the death of his grandfather, now that we're travelling to the island that my dad grew up on!
Because I'm an ornithologist, I'll be able to study the amazing birds while Jacob is exploring!
This old house is disgusting and falling apart. What could Grandpa Portman possibly expect me to find in a building that hasn't been used since it was bombed by Nazis on September 3rd, 1940?
