Abraham lincoln abolished slavery prior to the civil war which made many people of the north and slaves of the south happy campers.
before this event the north and souths tensions were high. There was slavery in the south, and the north was not happy.
after this event the slaves were free but this did not mean they were equal to the whites. Segregation grew very common and the former slaves were suppressed from society.
Abraham Lincoln, president of the union, took a major role in the outcome of the war. He stayed involved and strategized the war day and night.
This event, the civil war really changed the country economically and ethically. Southern states were no longer allowed to permit slave labor and slave trade. this really transformed and shaped the country that we are apart of today.
