It's almost Theseus and Hippolyta wedding. Hermia's father Egeus wants Hermia and Demetris to get married, but Hermia confesses her love for Lysander. Also, Hermia's friend Helena loves DemetrisThere is going to be a play at Theseus and Hippolyta's wedding, and the actors Quince, Snug, Bottom, Flute, Snout, and Starveling are getting their roles.
Act 3 Scene 2
Have you no modesty, no maiden shame, no touch of bashfulnes? What, will you tear impatient answers from my gentle tonuge? Fie, fie! You conterfeit, you puppet, you!
"Puppet"? Why so?-- Ay, that way goes the game...
Puck is talking to another fairy about being in woods. Titania and Oberon are talking about how they showed signs of love for both Theseus and Hippolyta. The faires sing Titania, the queen of the fairies, asleep.
Or say, sweet love, what thou desirest to eat.
Truely, a peck of provender. I could munch on your good dry oats...
The actors, Bottom, Flute, Quince, Snug, Snout, and Starveling come to the woods to practice their play. During the play, Bottom transfers Puck into wearing an ass head. Puck while dressed as an ass he chases the actors. Titania awakes from her sleep and spots Puck wearing the ass head. Titania starts to fall in love with Puck.
Oberon is away at the moment, but wondering if Titania has awakened yet. Lysander and Hermia had shown up to the woods and were searching for a way to be together in secret. Demetrius and Helena later went after Lysander and Hermia. Robin/Puck had heard about the mishave in relationships, so he decided to pick a fight. While he was pretending to be the characters, the four had become very tired and fell asleep.
While all Demetrius, Lysander, Helena, and Hermia were asleep, Puck and Oberon in secret wanted to use the love potion on Demetrius to fall in love with Helena instead of Hermia. Puck accidentally put the love potion on Lysander instead of Demetrius. When Lysander woke up the first person he says was Helena, so instantly he fell in love with her. Helena thought that everyone was making fun of her and did not actually think Lysander liked her. And when Hermia hears about it, her and Helena start to get in a fight. When they go back to sleep, Puck puts the potion on the right people this time making things go back to normal. While at the play practice, Bottom had not shown up to the play practice, but when he did he became very bossy.
When everyone gets back to Athens, Theseus and Hippolyta agree to have Demetrius and Helena marry each other while Lysander and Hermia marry each other as well. While at the wedding, the actors play Pyramus and Thisbe for the guest at the wedding.
