Houses in the neolithic age were built out of mud bricks packed together and they added stones or tree branches to the mud so they can strengthen the walls/roofs.
Neolithic people used the places built into the floors of their houses to store food and boil water for cooking.
The development of permanent shelters was important in many ways. Houses gave people protection from harsh weather and wild animals. Houses made life more comfortable and people could cook food in new ways. The long-lasting shelters also allowed people to settle together in larger communities!-
