Storyboard Text

  • If I profane with my unworthiest hand This holy shrine, the gentle sin is this: my lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand to smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss
  • Good pilgrim, you do wrong your hand too much, Which mannerly devotion shows in this, For saints have hands that pilgrims' hands do touch and palm to palm is holy palmers' kiss
  • Have not saints lips, and holy palmers too
  • This is when Romeo meets Juliet for the first time. He immediately falls in love and forgets about Rosaline. He begins to tell her she like a holy place that his hand is unworthy to visit.
  • Ay, pilgrim, lips that they must use in prayer.
  • Juliet tells him he doesnt give his hand enough credit. She calls him polite for holding her hand.
  • O, then, dear saint, let lips do what hands do. They pray; grant thou, lest faith turn to despair.
  • He is trying to ask Juliet if he could kiss her
  • Saints do not move, though grant for prayers' sake
  • She doesn't get that he wants to kiss her.
  • He asks permission to kiss her.
  • She calls him a saint and tells him that they don't move when they pray.
