This is when George Washington makes a big announcement about how they will cross the delaware river , on christmas day where they will charge against the Hessians. George Washington states that they will have to leave at dark and arive when it's still dark.
This scene is taking place when George Washington and his mean are crossing the Delaware river and are hoping for the best to make across the river at dawn . But some of the soilders are very sick and it's very cold outside.
Washington is very worried because the sun will rise soon and they won't be able to do there surprise attack, but they are marching to the hessians to attack them.
Before they arrive at trenton they come upon a small shed, "The Guard House" and the men go and kill the Hessians. So they can't warn the people at Trenton.
Continuing, when the surprise attack is still in session the Hessians still have know idea what's going on, but they do war a European style but the Hessians ended up surrendering, and a lot of the men died.
George Washington and his men are relieved that they won the war and now they know what to expect for the next one, but George Washington will make his men walk back nine miles and cross the river before it freezes over.
