  • I don't want to be here.
  • The setting creates the mood of the story by giving detail about how the narrator feels.
  • The setting affects the characters because no body want's to be at Grandma's house.
  • The narrator evolves within the plot because in the beginning the narrator was curious and wanted to know what the egg was. In the middle the narrator was confused about what the egg was doing when it was pulsing. In the end the narrator was happy that her dad was back.
  • The conflict in the beginning is that Dad is missing.
  • The resolution addresses the conflict because Dad came back.
  • The most influential part of the story is when the phoenix hatched.
