please tell us what you are doing for the talent show
La Bamba by Gary Soto
In the beginning of the story Manuel was walking to school and thinking "why did I raise my hand." When he had gotten to school he had realized that he had forgotten his math book at home. At the end of the day he had to stay for rehearsal. While Manuel was waiting for his turn he was twirling the record on his thumb when Benny blew into his trumpet Manuel dropped the record.
During the middle of the story Manuel's parents wanted to know what he was doing for the talent show but Manuel just said "You'll see." The day whizzed by fast for Manuel and so when his chores were done he quickly changed into hi best clothes and was standing next to Benny at the show. He had to sit through a little skit about brushing a flossing your teeth then once the karate kid was done it was his turn.
At the end of the story when it was finally Manuel's turn he was shaking but once the song started he started dancing and singing to the song. Then the record was just repeating itself then Manuel thought " it must be scratched from when I dropped it." Then when Manuel was feeling scared that they wouldn't like it but then everyone started clapping .
