  • This poem represents a story about a twelve year old boy who went on a "date" with a girl for the first time, with two oranges in his pocket on a cold day. They went to the drugstore and he bought her chocolate with all the money he had and one orange. He enjoyed being with her as she ate her chocolate and he ate his orange.
