Storyboard Text

  • Complicated
  • Okay, now we are going to get a little more complicated.
  • Factoring Tree
  • ???
  • It's not as hard as it seems.
  • Now, if you have a number that does not have a simple square root, you have to use the factoring tree.
  • Teaching
  • Okay, you have to the two factors of the number in the radical. Then, find the factors of those numbers until they are all prime numbers.
  • Dante is understanding the material that has been taught and Lola is implementing more advanced topics.
  • Tree of Math
  • √28   ^ 14  2 ^       7 2
  • Now that Lola has introduced the factoring tree, Dante is once again confused.
  • Learning
  • When you have a pair, one of them is dropped and the other one goes on the outside of the radical. Then the single prime number is put inside the radical.
  • Lola is explaining the problem step by step.
  • (Rad)icals
  • Wow! I didn't know math could be so easy once it's all explained. Thanks so much!
  • Looks like radicals are actually rad.
  • Lola is demonstrating how to complete the problem.
  • 2 √7
  • Lola has continued explaining the problem and radicals to Dante.
  • Dante finally understands radicals and he thanks Lola for all of her help.
