The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street
"No Steve your going to talk us in to a grave!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You'd let whatever is out there walk right over us. (woman talking)you killed him you shout him dead."
The setting represents caution/fear. Since its night and dark it makes the characters more scared which makes them turn on each other.
In the text i think that the conflict brings out the theme because the conflict causes the characters to bring out the worst in them. They all start freaking out because of some of their machines stop working and they turn on each other.
Charlie is rude and gets defensive when all of this happens. He blames other people but near the end hes the one getting blamed. His actions matter because hes the one that's making everyone else more scared.
The characters machienes and electricity stops working and then they started blaming each other. This supports the theme because they are judging and blaming and not letting them explain them selves.
"The sound of the roar Steve's power goes off , phones seam to be dead, and the electricity is off."
