  • The least number of alcohol related traffic fatalities in 2017 was in the District of Columbia.
  • The most number of alcohol related traffic fatalities in 2017 was in Texas.
  • TRAFFIC SAFETY FACTS
  • Continuing with the District of Columbia, in 2017, this territory had the most alcohol related traffic fatalities with a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) of 0.15 or higher.
  • TRAFFIC SAFETY FACTS
  • The age group of 21- 24 had the highest percent of of drivers in car crashes with a BAC of 0.08 or higher in 2008.
  • In 2017, 1,147 kids 14 and under were killed in a motor vehicle accident.  Of the 1,147 kids, 220 died in alcohol impaired driving crashes.

  • 118 of the 220, 54%, were occupants of vehicles with drivers who had BACs of 0.08 or higher.  71 of the 220, 32%, were occupants of other vehicles.
