Watch what you wish for. For your 3 wishes all come with consequences!
I wish we had 200 pounds!!
Mrs and Mr. White, along with their son Herbert White.
Sergeant-Major Morris brings the monkey's paw to the White's house. He throws it into the fire and warns them of the danger that comes with it.
I wish that my son rest in peace and does not come home.
Mr. White uses their first wish on getting himself 200 pounds. Herbert jokes about how the monkey is not real and how they will never see the 200 pounds. The Whites all say goodnight and go to bed.
The next morning Herbert goes to work, but does not return alive. When Mr. White wished for 200 pounds in return they lost Herbert. The old man explains that Herbert got caught in a machine and in return they get 200 pounds.
Mrs. White tries to wish her son back using their second wish. Mr. White is not sure what is going to happen when their son comes back or what he will look like. The Whites hear a knock on the door, Mrs. White rushes to open it but right before she does Mr. White wishes their son away.
Mr and Mrs. White live a sad life without Herbert and both face their own struggles. They fight and argue a lot but visit their son everyday to keep his memory alive.
