  • He had a French cocked-hat on his forehead a bunch of lace at his chin A coat of the claret velvet and breeches of brown doeskin
  • This is example of RHYME and it helps give the story a sort of flow especially when he makes his entrance it gives kind of a cool feeling.
  • The Highway Man makes his entrance in the story.
  • But the landlords black eyed daugther, bess the landlords daugther, plaiting a dark red love-knot into her long blackhair.
  • Bess is introduced and shown as the beautiful women that everyone loves
  • This is an example of imagery. It shows how the daugther  looks and appears in the story
  • They have a love for each other

  • This is an example of REPITION because it repeats a phrase to emphazie how important the phrase is
  • This is an example of SIMILE because it is uses a comparison for Tims hair to give a better description
